Shire is back!

That's right, get out your cook books, get ready to eat, get ready to start canning, and clear Thursdays on your calendars because summertime will be off the vine in 2013.

We've been working hard improving the soil and irrigation system and planning for 2013 so I hope you will join us!

My goal is to build on our successes and to keep improving Shire CSA for the members. This means:

A wide variety of produce ready early in the season.
Allowing members to choose what they get as if shopping at a market.
Fostering an atmosphere where people can socialize and relax.

We'll also be adding a few other things for you to enjoy, including monthly workshops focused on transitioning to a sustainable lifestyle, and…

…our new SUPER Market Club starting this week!

We've teamed up with local food producers to offer a selection of totally local food. For those of you who want to take eating local beyond fruits and veggies, our SUPER Market package will offer beef, poultry, cheese, bread, coffee, dry beans and other good stuff that you can't get from the CSA.

Here is the line-up of this week's SUPER Market package:

1 Carton of eggs
2-3 Acorn squash
2ish red onions
3ish yellow onions
1lb of beef
2-4 chicken breasts
1 head of lettuce

4-5 potatoes
1 wheel of MouCo
5ish pounds of white beans
4 links of brats
1 Loaf of bread
12 oz Coffee
