If organic farming is the natural way, shouldn’t organic produce just be called “produce” and make the pesticide-laden stuff take the burden of an adjective? ~Ymber Delecto
We hope to reestablish an intimate connection between food and the people of the community; preserving old world knowledge of how to eat home-grown, while simultaneously creating a sustainable planet. Using modern technology in tandem with traditional methods Shire will be a valuable resource for people learning how to live a world conscious lifestyle. A place to find fresh, natural, local food and also a laboratory, a school, and a place for fun.
That was our mission in 2010. We accomplished everything above, but we want to do better. In 2011 our mission is to celebrate our successful first year and to expand. We want to set the bar of what Community Supported Agriculture can be.
Our mission is also your mission. Tell us what directions we should be headed. Our world’s food and energy supplies are changing everyday, and sometimes it seems like none of us know what the future holds. We want Shire CSA to be something solid that people can breath easy knowing is sustainable, healthy, and going to last.
