Transition FC Central

Information

Transition FC Central

Transition Fort Collins is a HUB for community cooperation.  It's mission is to "build community by supporting community groups and projects that increase Fort Collins’ capacity to respond to fossil fuel depletion, climate change, and economic shifts."

TFC Central is the committee that maintains the core infrastructure for the entire Transition Fort Collins community HUB. We are now following a plan for a renewed TFC, which you will see documented in the sidebar on this page. These documents express the vision of TFC HUB members, as expressed in recent surveys and a member planning process.

As a working committee, TFC Central empowers and supports the HUB by facilitating networking, co-operation, and collaboration.  It includes the following activities:

  • 1)  updating a community group and project database
  • 2) maintaining the Ning website,
  • 3) initiating quarterly meetings and/or networking events
  • 4) generating social and other media,
  • 5) updating the TFC google group for email broadcast to the entire group,
  • 6) supporting people to get on board with the Transition Fort Collins HUB
  • 7) coaching people on projects that support community resilience

TFC Central convenes membership meetings and/or networking events 4 times a year for the Transition Fort Collins Spokes Council and for the entire HUB during the solstice months of March, June, September, and December.

TFC Central meets as needed or at least once a month to work on the infrastructure.  During our meetings we can answer questions about TFC and coach people on how to get their projects and groups going within the HUB .

Anyone is welcome to attend our TFC Central meetings which are scheduled as needed, or at least once a month.  To attend one of our meetings or to get immediate assistance, please contact janice@gmail.com.

I suggest that we consider putting our notes from each meeting on this group, or that we do a google doc and post the link in this group, so people can stay up-to-date, if they have to miss.

Agreed! I've added a page called "Meeting Notes: 01-31-2013" based on Janice's outstanding email recap. Thanks Janice! We can all add comments or edits to this page. You'll find it in the center column just below the Members of this group.

Hey Team,

I was all bundled up and driving up when I realized that it's too slick for me to drive up and will likely get worse. So, I headed back home.

Chat me on the TFC group page during the meeting, or call me if you want to conference me in.

I'll be using the time to work on some things for the site.

:-) Cheers! Keep warm!
